MOSS THAT FEELS GOOD

Tactile and therapeutic, the Moss Art experience provides you the opportunity to connect with mother nature while bringing out your inner artist.

This class will dive into the art of making a beautiful moss art piece. Inspired by the natural beauty of California redwood forests, we will mainly be working with three types of preserved moss and foliage to bring a piece of mossy heaven to your home. We make a dimensional 3D shadow box. It’s tactile, abstract and gender neutral. Participants are also encouraged to go on a nature walk to gather additional items for their mixed media nature sculpture.

This experience, Living Moss Art is such a therapeutic session. Influenced by the Japanese practice of forest bathing Shinrin-Yoku. We take you on a meditation through a redwood forest. We play sounds of the forest for audio immersion. We make two panels with moss, and allow the tactile nature to guide us. This experiences connects with all your senses. We hear, we touch, we see and we smell. We use real, preserved moss to immerse in nature. Nature really is the best therapy. When we are feeling stressed or too busy, a walk outside is our first step in calming the mind. Breathing in the air, feeling the wind, listening to the birds. These moments are the moments we share in our session. We also encourage sharing our creations and our moods. Come join us for this journey. A journey of meditation. Forest bathing.
